Google DeepMind announced Nano Banana 2 on February 26, 2026, and we've added support on day one. Here's what makes this model special:
Subject Consistency
This is the headline feature for many creators. Nano Banana 2 can maintain character resemblance for up to 5 characters and object fidelity for up to 14 objects within a single workflow. That means you can storyboard, create series, and build visual narratives without your characters changing appearance between images.

Pro-Level Quality at Flash Speed

- Use Nano Banana 2 when you need fast iteration, subject consistency across multiple images, good-enough quality for most use cases, and cost efficiency at scale
- Use Nano Banana Pro when you need maximum factual accuracy, the absolute highest visual fidelity for hero images, or specialised tasks where quality trumps speed
For most workflows — especially producing multiple images with consistent characters — Nano Banana 2 is now the better default choice. It's faster, cheaper per generation, and the subject consistency feature alone justifies the switch.
